Interior decorators
Some time back, we had a question in Microsoft about suggestions for interior decorators. I thought I would share with all of you since I found them very useful. As always, please take this as a suggestion only and do your due diligence before engaging any one of them.

My wife has worked with Carol Santos of Chelsea Rose Design for years now. I think that she would be able to help you. Her number is (425) 868-8935. I honestly do not know if her rates are expensive or not, but I believe she charges $95 an hour. When my wife first started to use her, I thought we were being robbed. But ultimately I came to understand that spending a little bit up front to ensure that you end up with something you love is well worth it. Especially when you consider what you ultimately end up spending and how the impact it has on your day to day life if you are not happy with it. Hope this helps!

I have used Nedra Daly at Daly’s Paint for color consultation on 2 houses now. She also did my sister’s house. She has a very good eye. I think she is approx $50 per hour—depending on the number of rooms, it could take a couple of hours. Antique Lighting in Seattle will do a lighting consultation for approx $65 and take that amount off of your 1st purchase. That made me think of lighting a whole new way.

We have used an incredible colorist for choosing paint colors in two of our homes (and I’ve recommended her to several people who loved her work). Her name is Renee and her company is called Color Whiz www.reneeadsitt.com/ …she is worth every penny. She can come in and help you choose colors for every room in your home in a half and day and it looks phenomenal. I know for me, doing that on my own would take half a year.

We recently got our house painted from Dave Martin (davemartinpainting.com). He is also a color specialist and helped us picked the colors. He understood your taste and suggested colors. His color choice is amazing. His price quote is also very reasonable. I would highly recommend Dave.

I used Frank and he was fantastic, knowledgeable, professional, always on time and fun to work with. He made a stressful situation fun and I learned a lot in the progression. He can show you some before and after photos. Our place is much more livable now and I have recommended him to many of my friends who also loved the work he did for their place. I would highly recommend him.

We had Carol Burns help us. She does interior design for Ethan Allen. She quick, she listens and it was free. Of course, she recommends furniture from their store, which is why they offer the free service.
