Hi All - here is another compile from Microsoft on first birthday ideas. As usual, please do your due diligence before making a decision.

I just held a first birthday at Gymboree at Redmond Town Center. They provided everything-games, favors, balloons, invitations (though I used Evite).
The only thing I had to provide was cupcakes (or whatever food you want to serve). We had 38 people there.

We had our daughter’s 1st bday party at My Gym in Bellevue. It is located behind Crossroads Mall. We are also members there. They did a really nice job! They have more teacher to student ratio than Gymboree and Little Gym and they really give the bday girl a lot of attention and just enough spotlight. They also have MS Prime discount.
We are so glad we did the party there – and 90 mins is plenty of time (we were originally worried about that).
For us, 2pm was the perfect time because it was after her nap.

Gymboree?

My son’s first birthday celebrated in cabana, basically it was more fun for parents as kids at this age won’t understand much.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Seattle Children’s Museum is pretty fun for 1st bdays. We didn’t do ours there.. but took our son there recently and they have an area for kids I think from 6 mos onwards.. The children had a blast when we were there.
For my sons first bday, we hired an entertainer from Studio3music.com and they came home with some toys etc and played with the children.. That was pretty fun too for all the kids.

I celebrated my little one’s 1st birthday in our community cabana (not so cool ?) but I made sure to have lot of balloons and balls there to make it fun for 1yr old. 1yr old might not enjoy at places like Gymboree or 3-2-1 Pump It, instead they prefer playing with Balloons and have their 1st cake.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 ) Chucky Cheese – this is a fun place for kids but since your child is just 1 year I am not sure if he /she can enjoy . ( don’t forget to print online coupon )
2 ) Gymboree
3 ) www.thechildrensmuseum.org in downtown Seattle , I heard this is a good place but we just moved and did not visit this place yet
I would suggest you plan it out in a club house for the 1st b-day and plan some activities for kids
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your home with not too many people is preferred option.
Offer food, drink, light music – its more for the adults, right? Charge camera batteries!
My daughter was thrilled and captivated when everyone sang happy birthday to her (her first time eating cake and hearing a choir of voices). ?

Although I don’t have any suggestions (since we had our son’s at our house) I can tell you to check with QFC for cakes. When my son turned 1, I ordered a b-day cake, they gave us, for free a another cake just for him.
